This article explains the basic features of Project Settings. For step-by-step instructions in using these features, please refer to the tutorial : Manage Project Settings
As an Administrator, you can also customize the controls and settings for each project. Project Settings is not on the Main Menu as it is not a global setting and it applies to individual projects only. Where Project Settings have not been set up, by default, the Subscription Settings apply.
To access Project Settings of a project, first click on the particular project on your Projects Register (Fig a), then click on the Burger Menu icon on the top left, and select "Project Settings" from the dropdown menu (Fig b).

1. Project tab
- set up your local time zone
- upload your project logo
- option to include an email to be copied for project correspondence
- option to hide disabled menu options
2. Quality Assurance Control
The Quality Assurance Control tab allows you to set some parameters and restrictions relating to the Lots in your Project. Please note that that this setting applies to all the Lots in your Project, there is no option to restrict your settings to just a few specific Lots within your Project.
2.1 Lot Options
Enable Primary Tags for Lots
The Primary Tag Code is an optional Field for Lots. Enabling the Primary Tag Code allows you to create Custom Lot Numbers.
Enable Pre-Open Status for Lots (identified by Date Work Started)
Some projects open lots in advance of work commencing. The problem with this is that reporting incorrectly identifies lots as being open too long, when the lot may not yet even have started. If it is the practice of your project to open lots in advance, you can control how they are reported by default in the dashboard by selecting this option. This will also enable a new standard view in the lot register which shows only pre-opened lots.
You can set a start date for multiple pre-opened lots by selecting them and using the Activate function of the context menu (Lot Status => Activate Lots).
Allow Lots to be Conformed with an Unapproved NCR
When this option is selected as "Yes", Lots with Unapproved NCR can be conformed.
Allow Lots to be Conformed with an Unfinished Test Request
Allows the option for Lots with Unfinished Test Requests to be conformed.
Require completed Checklists to Conform Lots
When checked, a lot can only be conformed if :
- All Check/Verify and Approval items are completed or
- The checklist is closed out
Set Number of Days for Automatic Unguarantee of Lots
This constant prompts the user to automatically unguarantee lots older than a set number of days. Set this constant to an integer (i.e. 28) representing the number of days after which lots will be unguaranteed. If this setting exists, then the user will be automatically prompted to unguarantee during the progress claim build.
Set Custom Lot Number String
By default CivilPro Cloud creates a 9 digit Lot number based on the Work Type, Area Code and an auto-incrementing index (WWAAAAIII). You can customise how this Lot number is created by setting the Custom Lot Number String.
Custom Lot Schema
• #W(<int>) = the Lot’s Work Type – truncated to <int> characters long
• #A(<int>) = the Lot’s Area Code
• #P(<int>) = a Primary Tag (requires that Enable Primary Tag for Lots be set to “yes”
• #I(<int>) = an auto-increment index (must be the last element of the schema)
For example, the fifth lot raised with Work Type SG and Area Code MC01 will be labelled SGMC01005 using the default settings.
Example Custom Lot Codes
#W(2)#A(4)#I(3) | SGMC01005 (the CivilPro default) |
#W(2)-#A(4)-#I(3) | SG-MC01-005 |
Lot#I(3) | Lot005 |
#W(2)-#A(4)-#P(3)-#I(3) | SG-MC01-BD1-005 (assumes Lot has a Primary Tag of BD1) |
#W(2)-#A(2)-#I(3) | SG-MC-005 |
#W(2)#I(3) | SG005 |
2.2 Checklist and ITP Options
Prevent Project Users from Editing ITPs
If set to "Yes", users who do not have project admin level permissions cannot edit ITPs.
Require Approved ITPs for Checklist
When "Yes" is selected, only ITPs that have been approved are available to add to lots.
2.3 NCR Options
NCR Root Cause
By adding a list of comma separated values, the default list of NCR root causes can be overridden. The default list would be specified by setting a value of Not Specified, Personnel or Training, Materials, Methods or Process, Machinery or Plant, Environmental or Conditions
2.4 Users
Make All Data Read Only for Approvers
This allows Approvers to Read all data in your CivilPro Cloud instance but not edit it. If turned off Approvers have to be manually given permission for the registers they are allowed to read data from.
3. Claims
- Allows you to set the GST rate for your claims
