Add an Image Layer (survey/plan)

Introduction

In CivilPro Cloud, you have the option of overlaying images on top of Google maps. This is extremely useful for adding a survey plan. By doing this, you will be able to visually communicate with all project stakeholders by being able to illustrate how the Lots and Control Lines have been mapped over the plan.

We recommend adding an image layer survey plan before creating your Control lines, as the plan will enable you to more easily create your control lines from a plan.

Note: You can still create Work Lots without an Image Layer. This is optional for your project.

Instructions

1.  Under QA Setup, select the option “Image Layers”.

2. Before entering an address, we recommend that you zoom in (anywhere on the map) to an approximate distance that would suit your project. After zooming in, you can use the address search field to locate your project location. (Note: Currently, this address search function does not pinpoint an exact location). In the future, you will be able to search via longtitude and latitude also.

3. On the top left-hand corner, click on “Add Image Layer”. You can drag the image file from your folder  to the blue pane or click on “Choose File” to select the file from your folder. (Note: maximum file size is 40 mb).

4. After the image has been added, unlock the image by clicking on the “Lock” icon The icon will change from blue to white. The image can then be dragged to any location on the map.

Note: Locating the image/survey is a manual process. It will not be mm accurate. This is for communication purposes only.

5. You can also adjust the scale and opacity, and rotate the image using the toolbar to fit it on your map. Once finished, you can click on the “Lock” icon to lock the position of your image. Click on“Save All Layers”.  (Note: If you proceed to the next step without “Save All Layers”, you will lose all your adjustments)

6. You can go to Advanced Setting by clicking on the Sidebar, and then the Pencil icon next to the file as shown below. Here, you can also arrange the layers in your desired order using drag and drop, allowing one order to be on top of another.

7. In the Advanced Setting, you can rename or delete a layer, change the opacity to a precise density, and enter the coordinates of your location. Click " Save" to save your update.

(Tip: It is easier to drag and rotate the image using the toolbar then using the coordinates to orientate your image on the map).
