Create a Lot Map (for Desktop V11)

This process shows you how to create a Lot Map with visual layers based on the Lots along a Control Line. Lot Mapping allows you to view and track all the Work Types, Work Coverage based on Lot Chainage and Lot Status in a single document.

Before you can create a Lot Map, you must create a Control Line and Lots. 

Please ensure your CivilPro Desktop is updated to the latest version (11.83.1.226) before you follow this process.

1. Navigate to your QA Setup, and select “Lot Mapping”. Click on “Add Section”.

2. Complete the following fields:

• Description – Usually the description of the Control Line and the location of the chainage
• Control Line – Select the relevant “Control Line” from the dropdown list
• Chainage start – Enter the start of the chainage where the lot mapping begins
• Chainage End - Enter the end of the chainage where the lot mapping ends ( Note: The mapping can correspond to the entire or a section of the control line ).
• Manual Lots – By default, all the lots along the Control Line section will be included in the map. Selecting “Yes” for this option means that you do not wish to include every lot, and will manually select the lots to be included in the map.  

Click “Next”.       

3. In the Layers tab, from the “Work Type” column, select the Work Type that is relevant to the lot created      along the Control Line e.g. EL for lot number ELRWNB001

    There are options to include Custom Register, filter and adjust the display (e.g. Display Height, Label          Font Height ) of your Lot Map, however, these are not mandatory and will default to a standard                  display. You can skip these fields. 

• Work Type – these will be the layers on your Lot Map
• Description – description of the work type selected
• Custom Register Filter – another filter to link layer to a customized lot attribute
• Filter Type – use “And/Or” filter to adjust include either Work Type or Custom Register Item, or to include both as your layer parameters
• Display Height Default – adjust the height of the layer displayed on the map
• Actual Height Default – currently non-functional (for future modelling use)
• Overlap Tolerance – if no tolerance is entered, any overlapping in chainage will display the layers as stacks instead of next to each other 
• Depth from Top Layer - currently non-functional (for future modelling use)
• Label Font Height – adjust the label font height on the map
• Overlap Behaviour - currently non-functional (for future modelling use)

     Repeat these steps to add more layers, corresponding to the work types that are to be displayed in           the lot map. Click “Next”.

4.  In the “Layout Properties” tab, you can make adjustments to the Map Layout. However, by default, the map will be printed as fit-to-scale.

The only measurement that needs to be adjusted is the Chainage Intervals, as proportionate to the length of your control line for ease of locating your lots and clarity. Chainage Intervals is the spacing between chainage markers.

For this example, the Chainage Intervals has been updated to 20. Click “Next”.  

5a. If the “Manual lots” option is Not selected on the “Details” page, there will be a message to remind you that the list of lots that appearing on the Lot Map will be automatic. Click “Ok”.

5b. If Manual Lot  has been selected on the “Details” page, click on “Update Lot List” and from the list, you can manually select which lot is to be excluded in the Lot Map.  

Alternatively, you can click on the "Include manual" icon to add the lots manually.

6a. Click “Save” and then “Show Lot Map” for a preview of the Lot Map. If you are satisfied with the  results, you can save a copy to Filestore here. Proceed to “Save and Close” or “Save and Finish”.  Click         “Prev” to go back to previous pages to make changes.
