In order to send Approvals e.g. ITP/Checklist Inspection, Hold Points, Witness Points, NCR, etc, you need to set up Basic Approval Workflows.
CivilPro comes with prebuilt basic workflows which will be sufficient to help get you started with most approvals. This process shows you how to set up these basic approval workflows in a few easy steps.
1. Navigate to the "Approval Workflows" register.
2. Click on "Create Basic Workflows". In the dialog box, click "Yes".
3. The basic workflows created include the following approval categories:
- Check Item
- Hold Point
- Purchase Order
- Witness Point
4a. For most approvals, this basic workflow is all you need to create. However, there are options for you to customize the actions for each type of workflow.
First open the workflow viewer by double -clicking on the small triangle next to the" Basic workflow" under the Category as shown below.
4b. In the workflow viewer, click on the arrow of the action that you want to customize. For this example, we're going to click on the "HP Released" arrow.
The "Action Properties" panel will open on the right and here you can customize the actions of the approval, for example, you can make it mandatory for approvers to include a comment whey they action their approval by ticking the box " Requires Comment". You can also set action permissions for this specific action.
Remember to click "Save & Close" once you finish.
