What is a Variation?
A Variation is a change in the schedule of works that deviates from the original terms of the contract, including an addition, omission or substitution to the works, or through a change to the manner in which the works are to be carried out.
What are the purposes of the Variation Register?
The Variation Register allows each variation to the project contract to be recorded and linked to the schedule items for inclusion in the progress claims. From the register, each Variation can be linked to Waypoints, Filestore Docs, Lots, Photos, Contract Notices and Schedule Items.
How to Set Up?
Tips for Users:
- When you create a Variation in CivilPro, it calculates the Valuation and accounts for Extension of Time.
- You can also record waypoints and update their status within the variation. Variation waypoints require updating as its status progresses from "Identified", "Notified", through "Submission" and ideally to "Approved". They can also be updated via the “Link” icon on the Related Items panel on the Variation register.
- You can also create a new schedule item from the variation for inclusion in the progress claim.
- You can also view or change the estimate of the variation using the tools on the Context Menu.
