Creating Plan Snapshots

Plan Snapshots are used to display multiple Entities (e.g. Lots, Test Requests, Photos etc.) in a single view. Once created, the Plan Snapshot will be accessible from the Related Items of any Entity linked to the Plan Snapshot.

For example, a Plan Snapshot may be setup to display all subbase Lots in an area, along with locations of Test Requests and Photos.

In this guide, we'll demonstrate how to:

Create a Plan Snapshot

  1. From the Lot Register, right-click on a Lot (that has a geometry defined) and select View on Plan. Alternatively, select multiple Lots you wish to include in your Snapshot.
  2. To find adjacent Subbase Lots,
    1. select Find, then Find on Current Page; or
    2. select Find by Plan, then sketch around the area you wish to search

In the Find by Area popup, we'll define search parameters as below to find all Subbase Lots on the page (or within your search area):

3. After selecting Search, you'll now be able to see all entities that match the search parameters.

Now that we Subbase Lots are linked in the Plan Markup view, we can customise how data is presented before we save our snapshot.

Summary of functionality below:

  • Find by Plan - draw search area on plan, and apply search filters
  • Select - select Geometry to then adjust properties or delete
  • Pan - click and drag navigation
  • Set Active - set as active Entity, allowing markup features
  • Find by Page - use search filters to find Entities on current page
  • Control Lines - show Control Lines
  • Snapping - snap cursor to existing points
  • Exports - export geometries in various filetypes
  • Entities Register - Entities (e.g. Lot, TR, Photo) are listed here. When selected, associated Geometries are listed in Geometries Register
  • Geometries Register - Geometries associated with selected Entities in Entities Register
  • Geometry Properties - format properties of geometry selected using Select
  • Plan Properties - format properties of Entities shown on Plan

For now, we'll just zoom in to show all Lots in the view window, then click Save Snapshot in the top-middle

Note: what's shown in the view window will become the Plan Snapshot, so it pays to adjust accordingly - including the 'Is Visible' and 'Is Linked' checkboxes - descriptions as below:

Give your Plan Snapshot a name, then click Save. Click Close.

In the Lot Register, you'll now see your Plan Snapshot in the Related Items section of each of the Is Linked Entities:

  • To view the Plan Snapshot, just click it. This will bring up an image.
  • To edit / update the Plan Snapshot, click the dots and select Show on Plan or Show on Map (displays Plan Snapshot in the Google Maps viewer). Find additional entities, then click Save Snapshot to update
  • To lock the Plan Snapshot, preventing changes, click the dots and select Show on Plan, then click Lock
  • To delete the Plan Snapshot, right-click Plan Snapshot, Show in Snapshot Register, and delete. This will remove it from all linked Entities.
  • To use Plan Snapshot in reports (Lot Map), right-click and select Set as Report Default
