Assign a Global Role

Where a user needs access to every project (current and future) in the database with consistent permissions, link their Role under 'Global Roles' instead of project-by-project.

Note: a Global Role with "Add" Access for Project Administration can create new projects – reserve that permission for project administrators where possible, if you want to avoid projects being created without sufficient authorisation. See User Roles.

Instructions:

1. Select the relevant project, and navigate to 'Team' on the left panel. Select the relevant user and click on the Assign a global role 3.jpgicon on the right panel.

2. Click on the Assign a global role 3.jpg icon next to the user's Global Roles. This will be at the top of the column.

3. Select an appropriate role from the list and click 'Save'.

4. You can now see that the user has been assigned a Global Role.

Note: if a user holds both a Global Role and a project-specific Role, the higher level of Access and Authority applies – with the exception of the ‘Limit’ authorities, which always override. Avoid mixing roles with conflicting permissions.
