If you are using CivilPro for the first time, you may not know where to start. This is a guide to help you get started with your project and set up your requisite QA registers before you create your first work lot and start your QA workflows.
Important Note: Please use CivilPro Web App for the setup especially when inviting users as CivilPro Desktop will not trigger the invite emails to the users.
After you have completed your setup, you can access the synchronized data on your CivilPro desktop by referring to this article: Connect Desktop App to Web App / Cloud via API.
There are three stages in the setup process which progresses as follows:
Stage 1
These are mainly administrative tasks that must be performed by your assigned Administrators.
Stage 1 tasks should be completed in the following order using CivilPro Web App/Cloud :
(Note: CivilPro comes with a list of pre-defined user roles that you can use, however, you can customize the permissions for these roles to suit your requirements).
(Note: you'll be prompted to add users during the project creation process, you can add just one or two users first, and the rest later)
Stage 2
The next stage is to set up all the requisite QA registers such as the Work and Area Codes, Specifications or ITPs, and also the basic workflows for your approvals.
You can either assign a QA supervisor or a project manager with the appropriate role permissions to perform these tasks. See User Roles.
The easiest and quickest way to set up the QA registers is to import the data, see Import Data Into Registers
In no particular order, Stage 2 tasks include :
- Create Basic Workflows for Approvals
- Add Work Types
- Add Area Codes
- Import ITPs from Repository or Import ITPS from CSV files
Stage 3
The last stage is to consider the additional setup, which are optional depending on your project requirements and how your team is using CivilPro.
You can either assign a QA supervisor or a project manager with the appropriate role to do these tasks.
In no particular order, Stage 3 tasks include :
- Add Payment Schedule
- Add an Image Layer
- Add Control Lines
- Add Test Methods
- Add Test Properties
- Add Contacts
- Create groups (for Addressees)
- Create Custom Fields Using Custom Registers
