Generate Quick Approval using QR Code

Quick Approval's allow you to capture an Administrators approval of a Checklist item (Hold Point / Witness Point release) onsite using a tablet or mobile, effectively closing out the HP / WP directly in the Checklist without the need for a typical Approval to be created.

For this reason, Quick Approvals won't appear in your Approvals Register, however, record of the Approver’s approval is traceable as below:

  • Approvers name + date is stored against the line item within the Checklist

  • Notification of approval is linked within the Notifications in Related Items

  • Approvers name + date is printed on the Checklist within the Lot Summary report

Note: the only option the Quick Approval process offers is Approve, and by selecting this, we don’t expect there to be further actions (rejections, conditional approvals, comments) associated with that HP / WP release. Should the Administrator not wish to Approve that line item when onsite – instead, have the option to Conditionally Approve, for example – you should instead raise a typical HP / WP Approval Request from your tablet / mobile. See Raising Hold Points / Witness Points. This will allow them to respond accordingly using the typical Approval process from their computer.

In addition to the below, check out the Using CivilPro in the Field (Tablet / Mobile) article.

2. Approving the Checklist Item by the Approver

2.1 Using their mobile device, the Approver can now scan the QR code on the  Requester's screen. They will need to sign in to CivilPro, to proceed with the approval. For best results, use your camera app to scan instead of a QR code reader app.

Note: Approvers will need to be given the "Approval Collaborate HPWP" permission ( Roles > Authority) by the Administrator to be able to do the approvals for the checklist items. See Add Roles .
