What is a Test Method?
A Test Method is a type of test that has been selected for use in relations to an ITP and its associated Test Request. In CivilPro, a Test Method is added to an ITP which can be used to generate a Test Request.
By extension, each test can also list the Test Result fields that are recorded for the test. The test results are only required if you intend to use the test results as standards for testing on other records.
What is the Purpose of the Test Method?
The Test Methods Register is a list of all the Test Types that can be referenced from the ITPs and the Test Requests. These tests may be defined in an industry standard, listed by the client or custom to your project.
How to Set Up?
You can set up your Test Method register by adding the Test Methods individually or importing them from Repository (REPO)/other Project or as a CPX file , either via Cloud or Desktop (D).
Note: A CPX file is a file that has been exported from v10 or v11 and has been saved in a folder outside CivilPro.
Tips for Users:
-
You can add test result fields any time, but if you have a full list, it is best that you import them into your new project.
- For new subscribers, when you import the ITPs from your REPO project, the associated Test Methods will also be imported. Hence, you do not have to import the Test Method again.
